Thankyou for this, Dean. I always wondered what the "ferry fiasco" was all about - now I know! You write very concisely, clear and to the point. I hope the media will keep on their backs about this - somebody's head must roll - preferably Sturgeon's! Of COURSE she knew all about what was happening - I would like to be able to call her a liar to her face! WHY is everyone so polite?!
Pleased to hear you enjoyed reading it. It's noticeable that it took more than 24 hours after the Audit Scotland report breaking for the SNP led government to finger MacKay. But I just struggle to find it credible that the First Minister knew nothing about the key decisions taken back in 2015. No way a junior minister Derek MacKay is the sole culprit here. As you say, somebody's head likely should roll, but given the record of this Scottish Government, I doubt anyone will. Not least since transport ministers, finance secretaries have all came and went since 2015, the sole consistent presence is the First Minister herself. And let's be frank, Nicola Sturgeon's main accomplishment after all these years in power is simply to have survived so long. She'll never resign voluntarily.
